Celeb Style- Aoi Yuu

Have you ever seen the movie Honey and Clover? What about Everything About Lily Chou-Chou?
Or Hana And Alice?  If you are big Japanese movie fan, and haven't watched these films, you definitely MUST check them out. Aoi Yuu is one of the most popular Japanese actress and she has been in many great movies- which I personally think they are all super beautiful...

Aoi Yuu's style is very pure. If I could explain her as type of landscape or location, I would say Hokkaido. When everything is covered with snow in Hokkaido.. that landscape, flawless landscape- beautifully clean, pure, and snows shines like dust of stars. I always admired her style. It's so artistic, free, and simple.

Above images are from her photo book Dandelion.

My favorite character she played was Hagumi- from Honey and Clover.
I watched the movie first, and got to read the manga. I personally recommend to read manga. Movie is made beautifully, but it doesn't convey enough details I pleasantly found in manga. Those beautiful details of expression and emotions-so subtle and so delicate. It portrays youth memories and stories about friendship, love and life. Oh the best thing about the movie is- of course, Aoi Yuu and her art. Her style in the movie is so beautiful!!!

Make sure to watch the movie- and you will soon become Yuu followers. She definitely is my style guide as well. Here I introduce some of our products I would recommend for her romantic artist style.

Editor's Day

So here is me in my studio. I know it is such a Surprise!! to show myself in our webzine. I just decided to let you gals know who is writing and tell u goodies on this blog. B)
I am wearing my favorite polka dot cardigan I purchased from H&M few years ago.
I haven't gone shopping for awhile since I have been too busy. Thou I DO have some stuff I am dying to get as soon as I find time and go shopping. I so want to get new pair of shoes- especially wedge. You know, I just love wearing high heels in general even when I go to the studio to work. Since I have been only wearing high heels, my entire bottom part of my body suffered from my such taste.
So one day my back started to hurt (especially if you run in the high heel to catch the light on the street or catch the bus!!) omg does it hurt!!!!

I decided- I will buy something super comfy this time. For sure, I want something that has wedge heel. Wedge heels are most likely very comfy to wear. Although I just cannot abandon my dirty taste of loving super sharp heels that looks like it can kill someone- I have to have something comfy other than sneakers. I want some heels but still be comfy.

So I was looking around the web-trying to find some of my favorite style of wedges that I possibly can get very very soon.

 Sam Edelman Zoe Boot $350.00
Colonial Madness by LD Tuttle Laced Wedge Boot $198.00
Jeffrey Campbell Rocks Wedge $148.00
All the images are from Urban Outfitters

Above shoes are my top3 wish list. I just can't stop staring at them! Especially Sam Edelman's beautiful boot... that shoes is just amazing in its design and I heard it is pretty comfy too when you walk on them. Only sad thing is that they are totally out of my price range.
Thou I do have my other favorites from our own store which I think I am very happy with their qualities and designs! Here are few pretty wedge heels of our store!

HH-00761 Peep toe lace up Wedge heels $64.99

JY-04516 Wedge heel disco heels $64.99

HY-02385 Retro shoes $67.31

You will be very happy with how comfortable they are. If you want to wear high heels
and still want to be comfy enough and think about your knees, I think you definitely should consider these beautiful stuff!! I am excited to try one of them.

Anyways, gotta go and work!
Next posting, I will introduce cutest tshirts we recently have updated!
Stay tuned!

Celeb Style- Miyazaki Aoi

So continuing from last posting- Nakashima Mika's NANA, I thought I should post another one for the other NANA, Miyazaki Aoi. Some of you who loves the manga would know- Gomatsu Nana, the girl who has the same name with Osaki Nana (Nakashima Mika). I think it was such a great casting! Aoi fits perfectly to Gomatsu Nana. I was very disappointed when Aoi did not come out in the second movie. I am personally huge fan of Aoi and love all of the movies she is in. For example, I own dvds of "Tada, Omaeo Aishiteru" and "Sukida". Aoi is such a beautiful actress. She has such a pure face, and her trademark- GORGEOUS SMILE.

Above is my favorite pictures of her. I think Aoi fits with Gomatsu Nana so perfectly because of her visual appearance really matches with Gomatsu Nana's overall characteristic- stupidly pure, sometime very dumb, immature, dreamy, fall in love easily, sensitive and very dependent on people. However, she is always learning new things- growing as time goes. I think her as Chizuru in the movie "Tada, Omaeo Aishiteru" reflects such point as well. Chizuru grows as time goes. Aoi seems like a girl who has many layers of herself, learning about things, slowly take of those layers one by one- become mature.

And of course, here are some other items inspired by Gomatsu Nana- Aoi.
Her looks are mostly very feminine- especially in her role as Gomatsu Nana. In the movie NANA,
her style focuses on SUPER feminine, elegant style. She is like typical Cancam magazine style I guess. If you want to know what I am talking about, google Cancam magazine and you will see. :)

Celeb Style->NANA- Nakashima Mika

Does anyone does not know about NANA? It's one of the most popular manga in Asia, originally from Japan, created by Yazawa Ai. It was such a huge hit when it was made into actual movie some years ago and our ideal, super-cool rockstar best friend Osaki Nana was played by Nakashima Mika. I mentioned Nakashima Mika in previous posting- about her Snow Flower. (Yuki no Hana)

Above images are some photos from NANA. Nakashima Mika was successful in pulling off Osaki's charismatic image both visually and characteristically. I first got to read NANA in manga when I was second year in middle school. I immediately fell in love with Osaki's Vivienne Westwood- inspired style. ORB accessories and that famous heart jacket were just beautifuly illustrated within manga. Yazawa Ai( the writer) is very well known for her fashion-related stories and all of her other books are illustrated so beautifully that although you are not really into fashion, those illustrations make you fall in love with it.

So anyways, Nakashima Mika used to have more soft and feminine images in her previous albums, but after NANA came out as a movie, she seems to be perceived more widely in Osaki's image. That charismatic, beautiful, strong, brave, cool, talented, subtle and sensitive character- combined with her punk fashion within her band BLAST.  Here I introduce some of our items inspired by this beautiful singer....
